Who I Am

Living abroad has always been my dream, but it felt so far out of reach that I never considered it. I come from humble beginnings, so even a study abroad semester was never on the table. As an adult, I fell in love with travel–particularly international travel.

I’m married with two preteen kids, so moving abroad was a retirement dream. Then, my mom died in 2020, and all bets were off. I was ready to do all the things, and with my husband’s support, we began exploring a move to Spain in early 2023.

My family moved from Middle Tennessee to València, Spain, in August 2024. I’ve gotten so many questions about how we did it. This is my journal about how we got here, what life is like in another country, and our adventures while living abroad.
