Yes, all the things we’ve discovered here in the UK are parallels to what you talk about. I lost 10 pounds in the first month from walking and the better food. And all of our food issues have been less or nonexistent here. And the walkable cities! The villages we’ve stayed in have 90% of what you need and then you plan a bus ride or train trip to a bigger town to get the extra things and make it a special day. The quality of time and the emphasis on comfort (not laziness) and conversation has been great. I could keep going but I know exactly what you mean.

I do know! It is so incredibly different from U.S. culture in so many ways. Such a refreshing and welcome change!

I love Spain so far! People ask what we miss and so far, just friends and family

There isn’t much, and you’re right. Most of it is related to close relationships or some nostalgia. Spain is a wonderful place to live!

What are the sounds of Castellano?

The language—Spanish. 😃

Ah, got it, Castilian. I didn’t know the Spanish term 😁

After 9 months in Valencia, I have an appreciation for public transportation and how far and how long my feet can take me. Like you, I only miss having a car when I get the itch to wonder outside the city. that is it!

It really is freeing to not be tied to a car!
