I haven’t been back to the US in over two years. My husband recently returned and commented about the big cars and having to drive everywhere in our city. I truly don’t miss my car. At all.

It was a little bit shocking to see all the giant cars everywhere. I don’t miss driving everywhere, but I will admit I sometimes miss the convenience of hopping in the car and getting somewhere quickly. Otherwise? I’m totally fine without one.

The first time we went back to Florida after moving to Portugal I remember also thinking: everything here is *extra*. Extra loud, extra busy, extra large, extra angry, extra traffic, extra stressful. It’s wild how we don’t see that when we’re IN it. Or maybe we do and we’re just conditioned to accept it and move on, so glad we (that includes you) don’t have to accept it anymore.

YES. This is a fantastic way to describe it. Everything is just extra. I just do not want that anymore. It is truly a privilege to live in Spain and experience something else. 💛

The amount of driving we have to do when we visit the States is downright depressing.

💯. I had forgotten how miserable it can be.

It’s all so excessive

Murfreesboro! I lived in Shelbyville for a number of years and met my ex husband in Bell Buckle!

I'm pretty sure it would feel pretty foreign to me now!

I know you just didn’t drop a Bell Buckle reference! I love it! 😂 Shelbyville has grown a lot. The whole area is becoming pretty unrecognizable these days. 😮
